Welcome!
Thank you all for the past 9 years of supporting and participating in the Satori Strings Contest. We have seen so many young talents, many of them also becoming very promising musicians and enjoyed this event every year.
Due to the suggestions from our participants in the past few years, we decided we should make our Strings Contest into a Summer Music Festival since there isn’t any in our area. Many students’ parents have expressed their interests in participating in more events if there are more during the contesting week. We have been trying to work it out in the past two years and have talked to many our colleagues and professionals. Finally, we are starting our Summer Music Festival this year. This will be the 1st annual Satori International Music Festival (SIMF) and we plan to have this summer music festival annually. The reason we are calling international, is because we are opening our doors to everyone who is interested in joining us, including foreign countries. We are expecting many young talents to come from all over of the world that we can share and learn from each others.
This year we are fortunate to have a very fine violinist, Professor Suli Xue as our leading artist for the festival. We are also going to have the members of LA Philharmonic Orchestra Dr. Steven Custer Cellist Pin Fei Tang and a Professor abroad from Canada, Prof. Jennifer Penner. We hope everyone will have a wonderful and productive summer.
